During our session, we will take a walk through the life of a project in our classrooms: beginning with how students pick a topic, explore, research the topic, and apply their gained knowledge. It seems hard to imagine how a JK class can find ways for a Camera project to be applicable for their young education, yet we are able to incorporate math, science, literacy, problem solving, and social studies into our lessons.
As Junior Kindergarten teachers we have embraced The Project Approach in our classrooms. We are continually inspired by and create projects based on real-life topics around our classroom.  We’ve seen how The Project Approach has inspired our students to be inquirers, scientists and students who think deeply about the world around them.  While we understand that teachers can’t necessarily go back to their classroom and adopt a new curriculum, we do believe that the Project Approach mindset can be adapted into any environment.
