Vocabulary is an integral part of many classrooms. It helps teachers to expand and provide appropriate academic language to our students. Tech teaching innovator Oskar Cymerman created the concept of Google It! as a way to make this aspect of teaching fit our 21st century students. Google It! is a great way to teach students how to collaborate and utilize Google as an academic tool to expand vocabulary in any class! My spin on this activity combines a kinesthetic and an artistic approach to creating examples of vocabulary terms that can be placed in a digital notebook.

Most of my educational adventures start with the question, "Wouldn't it be cool if...?" Often, that question ends with really cool projects for my students that allow them to demonstrate their newly acquired skills. From leading a 1 to 1 iPad initiative to using remote controlled drones to create campus maps, I try to find that sweet spot between authentic assessment, adolescent brain engagement, and meaningful technology integration.
